My Lovely Lady

So I know I give this girl a lot of grief for not being a towhead like her brother, but don't let me fool you. She is some kinda beautiful... She honestly melts my heart...

Cavities!!

Regardless of Beckett's love for brushing and flossing, he has still managed to get a cavity! I don't have the heart to tell him because we talk so poorly about cavities all the time!

However, sounds like this guy will be getting a dose of laughing gas in two weeks. Poor kid he's gonna be so bummed!

Beckett's got Moves like Jagger

We've taken to having dance parties at our house instead of watching TV. Mostly because we just don't have cable. But this is something we should have instituted a long long time ago.. it is clear Beckett has a natural talent for dance...

Mr Fix It

Damon has always been a handy guy... however, he is taking that to a whole new level with the new house. We bought a bank owned property, so needless to say there is no lack of work to do. We have spent every weekend gardening, fixing something, hanging something, or buying something for the new house. Beckett has really taken a liking to all these projects, he loves to pull weeds, look for worms and water the avocado tree.

Yesterday the two of them painted our lamps together. The turned out great... and now I want to paint more... Damon must hate it because... well let's just say I am the brains and he's all execution.

5 Years

Damon and I celebrated 5 Years of Marriage last week! My plan worked out perfectly because we agreed on NO GIFTS since we just bought a house and we are going to Europe in May as a delayed anniversary trip. However, that's just what I wanted him to think....
Well every year there is a theme for your anniversary and the 5 Year mark is 5. So my crafty friend Michele, who is really the entire brains and muscle behind this idea... helped me create this sign.

It is wood (ding ding) and has all of the streets where Damon and I have lived (seperate or together) since we started dating. It starts with Reed (Beckett's middle name) and ends with our New Home. Sorta priceless... and although it didn't take much as far as dollars to create, it took a lot of effort. I got off easy... and Michele did the bulk of the work. She is super talented! Needless to say he was speechless and I totally knocked him off his feet with this gift...

Noah and Beckett Love

Due to the fact that we are living so much closer now (because 2 exits was really far away before), Michele and I have been getting the boys together more. Although we do love getting the boys together it is more of a chance for Michele and I to hang out we just use them as an excuse. They really don't seem to mind...

Beckett "Chows a Lot"

We are of the distinct impression that Beckett is having a growth spurt. This kid can EAT. He has literally started to eat us out of house and home... We went to Pipes the other morning and he finished half Damon's burritto and two pancakes... and they aren't the smallest of pancakes. Within 20 minutes he was asking for a snack. Furthermore he has started to sleep until 6 am (See what I mean about all being right in the world... now if only Macie would get on that bandwagon).

If this is what 3 1/2 is like, I fear when this kid is 13... I am going to have to start a "Feed Beckett in the Future Fund"

The Little Things

I came home from work the other night to find Damon slaving away at the stove... I am sure this sounds like it would be a typical night in our house, but a typical night in our house is me walking in the door and getting bombarded by two kids and a Dog. I swear they can smell me when I get off the freeway. I assumed Damon must have locked them in the closet or something, but I look out back and the two of them are merrily playing in the back yard. Riding bikes together.... well Macie was more just sitting on the bike, but you could tell she felt like she was getting some speed. It was perfect and dreamy...

All is Right in the World

Damon and I used to joke that once we had our own home "All would be right in the world." Our kids would never cry/fight/get hurt, we would always have an abundance of time to do all the things we planned to do, work out/dates/barbques... we would have the right amount of money in our bank account, we would weigh exactly the right weight, we would never fight, there would be world peace and no famine and well... all would be right in the world.

So yep, that's pretty much our life now :)

We are living in our dream home... (with a little imagination yes one day it will be there)... we both are in newish jobs that we love, we obviously have the best kids that really did stop fighting/crying/getting hurt when we moved in (Yes that is a total lie). I guess the best way to put it is we are in a state of bliss and are blinded by our happiness.

All we can say is "Home Sweet Home"

Macie Baby?

Macie has earned herself a few nicknames... mostly we just call her Macers or Macie Baby... how ever I am beginning to think she is out growing her name. She is getting so big! She is talking up a storm and even tells me when she's pooped! It's ridiculous... She is strong, can keep up with Beckett, and totally opinionated. She sings to herself, loves shoes, and my makeup... However, she prefers cars and roars at me with dinosaurs and lions...

Her absolute favorite thing to do is COLOR! This pic just made me think how big she looked... Just coloring away as content as can be!

Family Date Night

We rarely go out to restaurants with the kids... not that they aren't well behaved, most of the time they are... I think we just think of it as too much work or something. However, last weekend we took the kids on a Spontaneous date to Nicks. We had never been there for dinner cause it's always so busy so we literally went around 4:30pm and there was still a line! We waited it out and enjoyed an Awesome dinner with some awesome company (Beckett and Macie). We had such a fun time (and that wasn't the two glasses of wine that I had with dinner talking).

This is Macie saying "Cheese"

Getting so BIG!

Seeing Santa

So I have never been one to take my kids to sit on Santa's lap. Something about it just never appealed to me... I have no idea why???

Yes Santa is holding Becketts Head up in this Image

Putting on the Glitz

So apparently San Clemente has been throwing "Putting on the Glitz" since I was a child, but I knew nothing of it till last year. And now I really love it! It's so fun when they block of the street and we can let the kids run around and see whatever event they have going on.

After an awesome day at the beach with the Leines, we met up with them to walk the street and enjoy the festivities. Emmiana is by far the nicest little girl in the world and 99% of the time her and Beckett get along great. This night was a perfect example! What a cutie the two of them together are!

One part of the street had a old time band with a harmonica, banjo, and violin to boot. Beckett was obsessed with them! We must have sat through 5 songs... his official favorite instrument was the Banjo. Banjo lessons here we come!

Thanksgiving 2011 Vacation...

This year we vacationed on our very own beaches. We had 80 degree temps Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving and spent both those days at the beach. Last year I recall being freezing so it was quite the treat. Any day we can spend time at the beach is a win in my book.

Thanksgiving 2011

This Thanksgiving was just about perfect. We had an amazing dinner and great company. Beckett was really into the cooking aspect this year and was especially obsessed with the Turkey. He was involved in ALL aspects of the dinner! Which made it even more special.

We have so much to be thankful for this year! We have two healthy amazing children, very generous and supportive family, we both started new great jobs this yearthat we love, Damon is starting Grad school and we love eachother! Things aren't so bad!

Out of Order

I never realized what a pain it is to carve pumpkins... we made the mistake of thinking each "person" needs their own pumpkin this year. Well who do you think did all of the work??? Yep exactly Damon! Beckett and Macie pretty much just supervised. We had to nearly pay Beckett to put his hand into the pumpkin... Anyway, they turned out SO cute and Beckett LOVED seeing them for the 3 days they lasted.... However, now whenever we pass a house that still has pumpkins out he tells me "Halloween is over Mommy, they need to throw those pumpkins out!"

Also, I think the Freddy Krueger T-shirt is a pretty nice touch on our part....

Great Grandma

Another Birthday Celebration which has to be Beckett's favorite thing... Great Grandma turned 80 something! I feel so fortunate that Beckett gets to know his Great Grandma. Grandma is such an amazing woman that has been through so much and been such a big part of our lives. And he just LOVES her! However the two of them were worthless when it came to blowing out the candles.... Took 3 people to finally get them all blown out.

First Self Initiated Play Date

Up until this point I manage all of Beckett's "Play dates" which is really just me deciding which of MY friends I want to see that will entertain Beckett at the same time... However, last weekend at Noah's 3rd Birthday Beckett made his own plans. We were all sitting around playing and I said we were leaving soon and his friend Drake said he wanted to come with us and Beckett said "Yeah Mommy, can Drake come with us." So then I had to do the whole "Well go ask your mommy" etc....

It went pretty well but about an hour or some into the date Drakey was asking to go home.... they were super cute together though up until that point.
Him wanting to leave may have had to do with the fact that we were yelling at Beckett to stop abusing his sister about every 5 minutes!

Drakes parents are from Texas and it was so cute because for dinner he must have eaten half a steak and pretty much nothing else. True texan!

And then there's Beckett

Beckett is AMAZING. He is so smart, happy, awesome, and sweet. He loves to do school work, cook, and play guns... but my proudest accomplishment of late are his social skills. He has gotten so much more outgoing. He will actually go up to random kids at the park and ask to play with them. It may not seem like much, but he used to be so shy and without even us trying to make him he started approaching them on his own. I really can't tell you how happy it makes me.

Beckett has also started this strange habit of only wanting to sleep on the floor. He will not sleep in his bed. We created a make shift bed on the floor that he sleeps in every night. Not sure what happened here... but for some reason he is adamant about not sleeping in his bed...

And one last really cute thing is that he "raises the roof" whenever something good happens. I am not sure where he got it from but I LOVE it!
